Hey Campers! Nolan’s back with a thorough review of  Woody Nelson | Country Club 7g  — and this time the rotation brought Mint Chocolate Chip from Sweetgrass. Spoiler: the nugs are ridiculous.

Woody Nelson’s Country Club line is their way of spotlighting craft growers from across BC — each drop features a different cultivar from a different producer, all run through Woody Nelson’s quality standards. This round, they partnered with Sweetgrass for Mint Chocolate Chip (Mystery Cookies x Green Ribbon BX), and Nolan’s been living with the bag long enough to give it a proper breakdown.

Budtender Review (Nolan)

“Is this chocolate chip or eye candy!? Look at these nugs! Is this cake? No, it’s trichomes! They are so dense and smell absolutely amazing, absolutely reeked up my room after I cracked the bag for the second time. It has a nutty and almost woody taste with gassy undertones, and it’s definitely more of a cerebral indica, the best of both worlds, with a nice hazy head high and body is feeling heavy as well — it’s the love child of two strains. Mystery Cookies x Green Ribbon BX. It’s actually a 50/50 ( sativa / indica ) hybrid which is a rare ratio to find on the market in the higher quality variety, that hits quite like this. I’ve only known 50/50s to be more racey but this one is actually nice and chill. Limonene is the dominant terpene followed by Caryophyllene and Myrcene. If you guys have this at your store and you are looking for something new give it a try! It’s absolutely worth it!”

First Impressions

The bag appeal on this one is hard to overstate. Nolan’s first reaction was disbelief — dense, trichome-heavy nugs that looked more like frosted pastry than cannabis. The aroma is big enough to fill a room on the second open, which is the kind of  terpene   preservation you get when a craft grower takes the cure seriously. Mystery Cookies x Green Ribbon BX is a  50/50 hybrid , which is an unusual ratio to find at this quality level in the Ontario market. Limonene leads the terpene profile, backed by caryophyllene and myrcene.

How It Hits

Here’s where Mint Chocolate Chip breaks the mould. Most true 50/50 hybrids lean racey or unfocused — you get pulled in two directions and end up somewhere unsatisfying. This one doesn’t do that. Nolan described it as a cerebral indica: a hazy head high with body heaviness that arrives without the anxiety or restlessness. It’s chill without being sedating, heady without being wired. The nutty, woody flavour with gassy undertones carries through the smoke, and the limonene keeps things from getting too dark or heavy.

What People Are Saying Online

  • Deanna from Stok’d also grabbed this bag and confirmed the sticky, funky, lemon-undertone profile — noting the nug size was impressive, with one bud big enough to need a lighter for scale.
  • Woody Nelson’s Rosebud award-winning approach to cured resin and their commitment to community-first growing out of Nelson, BC have made them one of the more trusted names in the  Ontario craft space .

Our Take

The Country Club 7g is Woody Nelson’s showcase for what small-batch BC growers can do when they’re given the right platform. Mint Chocolate Chip from Sweetgrass is a standout rotation — the 50/50 hybrid ratio is genuinely rare at this quality level, and the fact that it smokes calm rather than racey makes it versatile in a way most balanced hybrids aren’t. Nolan’s recommendation is simple: if your store has it, try it. At Stok’d, this is the bag we point to when someone asks for “something different that’s actually good.”
